This team is made up of players chosen from strong prefectural teams such as Vegalta Sendai Junior Youth, FC Miyagi Barcelona, which produced Shinji Kagawa (Beşiktaş), and Shiogama FC, which trained Yasushi Endo (Kashima Antlers). “As representatives of Miyagi Prefecture,” the team commented, “we want to be bold not only on the pitch but off the pitch as well. We're grateful for the support we've received from all over the world and intend to exhibit Miyagi’s revitalization through our all-out play.”
