TOKYO
TOKYO TRAINING CENTER SELECTED TEAM
This selected team is made up mainly of Tokyo training center players chosen from FC Machida Zelvia Junior Youth, Mitsubishi Yowa Junior Youth, FC Tama Junior Youth, and other club teams registered with the Tokyo Football Association. It commented, “We want to use our pride at being a team representing the host city Tokyo to maximize individual strengths and potential. With the home team advantage and support, we hope to play in a way that fulfills fans’ expectations.”
TOKYO JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL PHYSICAL CULTURE ASSOCIATION SELECTED TEAM
This selected team is made up of players chosen from junior high schools belonging to the Tokyo Junior High School Athletics Federation. It consists of players picked from the 11 supporting clubs, mainly former U-13 Tokyo players. “Traveling to Malaysia this March, we came into close contact with overseas soccer and were motivated by it,” the team explained. “We will work as one to make a big impact at this tournament.”
F.C.TOKYO
FC Tokyo is a combination of FC Tokyo Musashi and FC Tokyo Fukagawa. It is managed by FC Tokyo legend Ryuji Fujiyama and coached by Masashi Miyazawa. The team said, “We want to do our best to exhibit the club’s concept of never giving up before the end. We will work hard and play aggressively to interact with the many teams from overseas and players from all over the world, forming human connections through this tournament.”
TOKYO VERDY
This is the Junior Youth team of Tokyo Verdy. Characterized by its many players with excellent technique, it has a longstanding rivalry with its fellow Tokyo club FC Tokyo. Koki Anzai (Kashima Antlers) and Shinnosuke Hatanaka (Yokohama F. Marinos), chosen to represent Japan at the Kirin Challenge Cup in March, both participated in this tournament as players of Tokyo Verdy in the past. “We will give our utmost, one game at a time,” the team promised.
